I am grateful to Tarsha for creating the summer Reading Program. My children attended last summer and walked away with a love for reading. One of my children has a learning disability and the extra help this summer really helped him. With that being said, I now know why she strives so hard to make it possible to assist children when it comes to their reading skills. Not only did my children enjoy the program, but I did as well by volunteering my time. I walked away with a new meaning and new passion which is seeing our children equipped with what they need for their future. Thank you Tarsha Johnson and The READ Program.

My 13 year old daughter was a volunteer for the Read Program this past summer! She was so excited about helping the other children read. The more she helped the others, the more she found herself reading. She told me that she enjoyed helping the kids with their reading each day. The Read program not only created a place for learning, but a nurturing environment where the kids where taught about building character and received meals each day. This helped my daughter keep a routine through the summer and helped her as well as the other children feel more confident in their reading skills. She had done much better in school this year especially with her reading and will be volunteering for the Read program again this year! Thank you so much for bringing the Reading Program to our community!

As a parent of a 5th grader, I was so appreciative of all that the READ program offered to my son last summer. He developed a new outlook on reading and began to realize the importance of it. I believe that reading is the most important gift we can give to our children and what better way for you to participate, than by giving to this program, so that it can be another summer of success for our future. A big thank you to Tarsha and everyone who volunteered for the Read Program last year. I have already donated to to read program at www.gofundme.com/61g9fk and I encourage others to donate as well!

When I was asked if I would like to volunteer for the R.E.A.D program, I said sure. I didn't realize the impact that it would have on my life. I went in thinking I was just helping, giving back, and thinking what else was I doing with that time off. I was wrong, it was more than all that combined. I met some amazing people and realized that I was there for more than just helping those kids to the best of my ability. I saw the impact on the kids and the role you play in their lives; therefore it brought a greater joy to know you contributed to a good cause. I look forward to volunteering again and see great success for the R.E.A.D program.
